Deployable Joint Force HQ

The refurbishment of this very important facility was undertaken on all three floors of the existing building.

Major structural work included:

• the atrium infill
• the installation of a new lift shaft
• the construction of a bridge and new retaining wall

Important aspects of the refurbishment included:

• communications and data systems
• special security requirements
• extensive workstations and seating

Major additions to the project scope included:

• a complete refurbishment of the building exterior
• external works
• an increase in the ground floor area.

This facility was awarded the Regional Winner – Office Accommodation ($1M TO $5M) in the 1998 Housing & Construction Awards hosted by Queensland Master Builders Association.
